Work

Gone were the days of hectic and packed schedules in studies with that tensed up mind in most time… Finally everything is over.

I feel so much relieved to do the things I like to do… that I have more time and ‘mind allocation’ - heh. And most of all, I feel happy to hop in to st@r office regularly again, going here and there and come back with stories and pictures; and at times still enjoying working like a dog brewing the best cup of cappuccino or toasting the most presentable English muffin with smoked salmon… ;-)

I thought of writing something else, of which I came across way before when I was preparing studying somewhere for my final exam. It was a kinda kinky encounter I would say, heh. Kinky? Yeah kinky… And I thought of naming the encounter as “Minah tudung ketat dahagakan kote”. Now you wouldn’t say it doesn’t sound kinky, aight? No joke, it WAS the thing I came across some time back. It shall come up in the next post… when I get the time to write them out. Interesting. And I was sorta blown away… Just stay tuned. I’d be back.

She has just finished covering an evening function in Jonker Street. After bidding bye-bye to the photographer, she began to walk to her car, which was parked at another street nearby.

Suddenly, she got a tempting smell of live-cook ‘yam coin’ (算盘子) from a stall few steps ahead on her way. With a smile appeared on her face, she decided to follow her instinct…

Her: 老板娘,算盘子大的一份,打包。[Lady boss, one big portion of yam coin, take away please.]

Lady boss: 好,马上来。[Sure, right away.]

While the packet of yam coin was done and almost on its way to be handed to her…

Her: 老板娘对不起,我不要了。[I'm sorry lady boss, I don't want already.]

Lady boss: …… (looking at her speechless with the “why???” look on her face)

Her: 我忘了带钱包出来。[I forgot to bring my purse.]

With the fastest possible speed ever, she walked off with her ‘bengang’ face… heading to her car again.

“Damn it! Malu siol…” her heart spoken.

Sigh sigh sigh… why must the forgetfulness stroke when she finally got a by-chance opportunity to taste a Hakka delicacy that she’s been talking about all the while, ever since her last time of trying the food which were made by her beloved father more than n years ago…? Why happened when the stall was still selling the dish at that kinda hour although it used to be already-finished- long-time-ago. Why la…?

And yes, the Hakka girl in the end drove home immediately after the incident, without a single cent, without her IC and driving license… and without any yam coin obviously…

Some time back, Ben excitedly told me about this number that mesmerized him so much, by keeping that very number playing over and over again, throughout the few hours of monthly inventory routine.

Hardly as I used to, paid too much attention on new songs - I’m slow altogether in this and if you know me, you’ll know. So other than thinking the rhythm and percussion setting were good and the chorous were somewhat a catchy tune to me, not much thought were put on since then…

Today I got that very number playing again. And out of curiosity, I got it somewhere from the Internet despite my suppose-to-be-doing-work state of mood. And not long after that I got myself a copy of the lyrics too… then I started to really listen to it - and that’s my way - if you know me you know.

Don’t know why I just started to like it, and I guess the “likeliness” is still increasing. Unlike its name, which was also repeated throughout the chorous, my tears just couldn’t stop flowing, especially when going through the lyrics line by line… Not that I was saddened, but I was rather touched. It’s a triggering number indeed… that put me into the whirlpool of old and present memories.

Big girls don’t cry… the more the phrase was sung the more rebellious my tears would be, but all were in smile. Was it because my tiredness over the days? Or my weary eyes with no good rest? Or the indulgence-sorta-thing after the long good conversations since the passed two days…? But I know I pretty enjoy this kinda tear-flow, which probably causes no harm but good reflection and contemplation… despite the fact that I was kinda exhausted for the past few days.

I got stuck again. But I guess it was a good stuck…

note: Marcus is running great now - but I ain’t gonna turn him into a mad cow yet… :-)  in fact, this is the third post written with him as my platform.

One word described it all…

Got myself a new laptop few days back - a Compaq Presario V3000. It should be something to feel excited about but it’s just not that - it’s still dumb and still not with me for more than an hour after it was declared mine. I guess some time still need to be given before my little blacky could run in tip top condition alongside with my work… Thinking of giving it a name… got the idea of ‘marcus de negro’ since I keep telling Ms Debbie that my laptop is a masculine one and ofcoz, negro as it’s in black, and so the whole thing looks definitely ‘manly’ by nature - ahem! Heh…

I’m having three mid-term papers starting tomorrow consequtively and I guess I’ll be biting books and notes in the coming few days… still there are many things to read to write to plan to do… And also am getting another new boss at work… hmmm more question marks ahead.

Heerrrmmmm… when will I get to hug my ‘Marcus de Negro’ for real…?

I’m sure many of you have watched the movie “The fast and the furious 3 - Tokyo drift” before. The drifts made by those juicy cars were simply amazing. And at many points one might not have ever seen a real car driftig for real right in front of the eyes… But I was lucky I did - and to make this experience even more perfect, I was offered a ride in a drifting car!

I was actually covering a two-day function - a drift challenge held at a stadium last Saturday night and Sunday morning. While waiting for my function to start, I chit-chatted with several participants while they were watching other drifters doing their practice. We talked alot about the drift cars and things related. Then out of a sudden one of them asked.

“Have you tried before sitting in a drifting car?”

“No… only have seen it before…”

“Heh, wanna try?”

“Uh… (excited) why not?”

The next thing I realized was, one of them agreed for the ride of showmanship. The gentleman then led me to his car and gave me a helmet. The moment I spotted the car I was going to ride in, I almost screamed. It looked so sporty and the colour was simply ‘chun’!! And it was also the most eye-catching car during the night as well as the whole competition. Oh how honoured I was…!

Hopped into the car, the gentleman told me it was a Nissan 180sx. I could see it was totally modified into a drift car with plenty of strengtheners and gadgets that I couldn’t call. While reaching the drift track, I also got to know he had been drifting for years.

The next thing happened, was the first round of drift ride. It started with a straight road, about 100m then followed by continuous turns and corners. So we moved out fast and aggresively, then I heard tyres squeeching and smokes running. It first drifted to the right then followed by a quick shift to the left throughout the U-shaped corner; then dragging itself upward before another shift and drag to the right during another C-shaped corner.

What happened to me in the car? I was all the way following the movement… both my foot were placed firmly on the base; and my body was swayed to the left and right over and over again with great force while the car was moving in high speed and high movements. It was really, really I mean really fast and furious. Phew…!

And then, I was taken for another round. Fuiyohhh~~~ so so so excited! Hahaa…

The sporting and friendly team mates together with their cars. On the right was a Toyota AE86 - beautiful drift car.

Couldn’t really post too many pictures here, as some of them might be used for the news. Perhaps I might update more in future… Anyway, many many thanks to Mr. Lim Chin Hong and his friends who offered me this unforgettable drift experience. This is probably my once-in-a-life-time opportunity. I’m so glad it happened, although I had a serious sun burnt on my face and hands after covering this function… Yeah I look so dark and tan now :-D

But the drift… What a great eye opener! Loved it!

It’s one gb of storage, with a huge amount of just-found-yesterday data and information for my research subject…

Not backed-up, that’s why just-found-yesterday…

And not mentioning other stuffs like some notes, reports, songs, pictures, and my news stories…

For the second time, I lost my pen drive again.

Life sucks a big time.

I was covering a night function last Saturday, whereby there was a beauty pageant show as one of the programmes. There were ten finalists, and among them I find that I liked her the most…

no5.JPG

Doesn’t she look awfully sweet?

Her name, according to the programme book, was Ho Fooi Tin.

A friend who was there said the girl looks great too. But she prefers another finalist. And since the media table wasn’t fully occupied, I gave four votes for this girl alone. Didn’t know if she stands out to be the champion or not. And I guess it was not reported as well, as I was the only media who stayed there for the longest hours…

Well… once again, doesn’t she look beautiful…?

It has been the toughest day in this work environment…

I was pushed, I was stucked, I felt helpless, I felt suffocated and I was puzzled, confused, lost.

I was smacked.

Life is indeed not smooth all the way… But when you happened to be not the boss, just get ready to be fucked.

Just a short note, as I’ve been handful with stuffs from here and there…

And probably this is the best present for me in this year’s birthday ;-)

Been sitting here for more than two fucking hours. Still didn’t get to register ANY subject. Damn it estupido lousy online system. Gets fucked up almost every trimester. Rather queue and register. And the lovely president of MMU, you’d better notice this.
